Dear All,
I'm an English Teacher looking for a teaching position in Italy. I'd be happy to consider teaching any level and in any possible location.
Iwas awarded the CELTA certificate by Akcent IH Prague last May (grade B). The course was intense and demanding as well as rewarding. I think I have gained a solid theoretical and practical basis to start teaching English to adults. Moreover, I learnt many useful things about myself too.
I had my first English teaching experience with children aged 7 to 13 on a summer camp run by Accademia Britannica IH Campobasso last July. By doing this, I have learnt to organise engaging activities suitable for elementary and pre-intermediate levels of English.
I’m currently giving private English lessons to two business men in Sondrio - Italy, five hours a week (upper intermediate level). During my university studies I occasionally gave private English classes to teenagers (elementary and pre intermediate level).
I personally think I am a reliable, patient, timely person, and have proficient listening, observational, inter-personal and problem solving skills. I’m passionate about learning generally but English especially as I consider it an extremely useful language in the 21st century. I am looking forward to working in a stimulating and motivating work environment in which I can develop as a professional English teacher.
I have been studying English since I was a child and have experienced various teaching approaches in primary school, high school, university, and on adult general courses. This means I have been an English student for most of my life: I can now effectively recognize students’ difficulties and aims, etc. Also, I lived and worked with English native speakers as well as with speakers of other languages. Having done this, I have developed the ability to understand different accents and to identify common learning problems for non-native speakers. Moreover, thanks to the various jobs I have done in my life, I have learnt to be flexible, creative, tolerant, open-minded, curious, and to challenge myself in new situations.
A few years ago I volunteered in a multicultural centre in the Netherlands for five months. There, I used to organise leisure outdoor activities for children from six up to fourteen years old.
I always enjoy helping others in learning and improving their skills.
I really hope to be of interest to you.
Please feel free to contact me for any other information you might need.
Thank you and kind regards,
Gabriele Della Torre
